Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. The couple moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended the Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. When she was 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing and dance. As part of a school production and an Stagecoach production, Emma was her role as lead actress at 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for the very first time back in the year 1999. Casting agents found Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's first cinematic appearance was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It also was the most successful film during 2001. Opening weekday and weekend the sales were record breaking. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's performance "amazing". Emma received five awards to honor her role in the movie.
